Gettysburg Chamber Music Workshop

19 June, 2020 to 23 June, 2020
Workshop
6:30pm
Musical Director Robert Battey coaching a group

The Workshop runs from Friday evening through the following Tuesday morning.  We are 48+ enthusiastic adult musicians coming together for intensive study of the great string quartet literature. The program includes pre-assigned groups with rehearsals and coaching each day, supervised sight-reading sessions, and free-lance playing in the evenings (faculty joining in).  Along the way, we also offer a prime rib picnic, an optional tour of historic battlefield sites, and a faculty ensemble presentation.

The aim and focus of the Workshop is to give each musician an experience that is both challenging and supportive, and to provide ideas, techniques, and concepts that they can use to improve their playing year-round.  The large number of returning musicians, some for many years, is a testament to our success.  We are always seeking out new members, however, so we urge and encourage any experienced string players to explore the website and consider applying.
