Chamber Music Workshops Look to the Internet in 2020

When the Coronavirus began its rampage across the world in February and March and cancellations, restrictions and quarantines followed, it was hard to imagine that life would continue to be so deeply impacted through the summer months. While players around the world struggled to find ways to continue playing without gathering with others and with extremely limited online options, summer workshops were still something to look forward to. Alas, one by one, ACMP was notified of program after program that has been cancelled. Many are not taking place at all while others have been postponed.

In the last few weeks, we've heard from some workshop organizers who are creating online chamber music programs for adult amateur players. While a far cry from the usual in-person experience, they offer a variety of chamber music content. We've started to compile details of these to share with our members.

Pleast note: as with the Workshop Guide, this information is for informational purposes only. ACMP does not endorse any program listed. ACMP’s only interest is in providing information that we believe will be useful to the ACMP community.

Amateur Music Network Online Workshops

We're really excited about our new series of online workshops. This month we have a session with Eugene Izotov, the amazing principal oboist from the SF Symphony who will discuss his career as leader of the wind sections of the Chicago Symphony, the Metropolitan Opera, and the SF Symphony, and he'll take questions from participants. More workshops are being added soon, and we'll keep you posted.
